Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Customer Service Lead to join our team at Metcalfe's Market. As a key member of our front-end operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, supervising and directing front-end activities, and ensuring that our store's front-end operations contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of customer service in the store's front-end operations
  • Supervise and direct all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager
  • Accurately perform all transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and ID requirements
  • Ensure that return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner
  • Train others to perform all department activities and functions
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and supervision of others to meet or exceed departmental productivity levels
  • Handle spoiled/damaged products per established guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department
  • Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
  • Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
  • Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Proficient computer skills, including email and spreadsheets
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
  • Accounting/Bookkeeping skills
  • Interpret/Analyze Financials
  • Develop/Manage Budgets
  • Delegate/Direct/Implement
  • Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products
  • Detail Oriented
Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The associate is required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and may bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures) and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
