Electrical Engineer - Yield Enhancement Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Yield Enhancement specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing processes and taking ownership of a function to improve product quality and reduce scrap levels.

About the Role

  • Work with manufacturing engineering and operations to create protocols for production teams to follow that result in high-quality products.
  • Implement effective quality controls, teach production staff how to use them and supervise outcomes.
  • Create and implement quality control workflows to improve the efficiency of the quality assurance process.
  • Collect data about instances of product errors and investigate possible solutions by troubleshooting the manufacturing or design process.
  • Apply good theoretical knowledge of electronics manufacturing engineering principles to identify issues which could or will impact product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage detailed problem-solving process including but not limited to trend and root cause analysis, containment, corrective and preventive action using classic Six Sigma problem solving techniques.
  • Analyze/modify current product processes and implement improvements.
  • Perform a variety of complex engineering tasks to improve the reliability and manufacturability of company products.
  • Key contributor to factory process improvement using measured metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EE role, yield enhancement, process engineering, or a related role in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Experience with semiconductor process technologies (e.g., lithography, etching, deposition) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of yield management software (e.g., KLA-Tencor, Applied Materials).
  • Experience in advanced semiconductor nodes (e.g., 7nm, 5nm).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
