ANSER is seeking a highly skilled Operational Research Analyst Task Lead to provide support to the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD/NM) on Nuclear Surety and Exercise Programs.
Key Responsibilities- Program Support: Provide technical advice and support to the ODASD/NM on Nuclear Surety and Exercise Programs, including reviewing and updating the nuclear weapon systems surety program and incorporating modifications to OSD policies and procedures.
- Guidance and Methodologies: Develop guidance and methodologies for threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments within the DoD and U.S. nuclear enterprise, in coordination with NNSA and NRC as needed.
- Policy Interpretations: Research, review, and develop policy interpretations for Military Departments' requests for clarification of OSD policies and procedures.
- Safety Studies and Assessments: Review safety studies and assessments, providing recommendations to support USD(A&S) approval of Military Departments' Weapon System Safety Rules.
- Nuclear Weapons and Materials: Provide analysis, research, and program support for nuclear weapons and materials, including special nuclear materials, transportation guidance, and execution of movements for DoD and Interagency and International partners.
- Meetings and Conferences: Develop materials, provide technical support, and coordinate for meetings and conferences, including attending, recording, and summarizing the results of the meetings or conferences.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance, able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in international affairs/relations, security studies, or similar related discipline.
- Experience: Demonstrated six years of relevant experience, with proven analytical work in a high-visibility and high-tempo office setting.
- Skills: Excellent writing skills, in-depth knowledge of editorial principles and techniques, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Experience: Demonstrated experience working in an OSD/Joint Staff/Service Staff/Interagency environment.
- Nuclear Weapons Systems and Operations: In-depth knowledge of nuclear weapons systems and operations, nuclear weapons physical security and safety expertise, and/or international nuclear cooperation programs expertise.
- Exercise Planning and Execution: Experience developing materials, providing support and coordination for DoD Force-on-Force exercise planning meetings, DoD Force-on-Force exercise execution, and FBI Tabletop exercise planning meetings and conferences is a plus.
