The Cost/Pricing Analyst II plays a crucial role in supporting the Department of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (DAF RCO), the Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition Special Programs Division (SAF/AQL), and US Air Force combat and sustainment operations. In accordance with federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and Air Force acquisition policies, laws, regulations, and guidelines, the Cost/Pricing Analyst II provides expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to procurement teams in addressing a wide range of cost and pricing challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

As a Cost/Pricing Analyst II within our Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office (AFRCO) team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying extensive contracting and pricing expertise to offer counsel to specialists regarding the resolution of technical challenges and practical guidance on navigating specific scenarios.
  • Leveraging knowledge of federal, DoD, and Air Force contracting and pricing regulations, policies, and processes for various situations.
  • Assisting Contracting Officers in establishing cost objectives grounded in sound pricing principles.
  • Acting as the primary cost/price analyst on highly complex or sensitive contracting matters.
  • Participating in short-term and long-term teams to address specific or unprecedented pricing challenges as needed.
  • Serving as the technical authority in pricing-related issues.
  • Reviewing and assessing contract price proposals for adequacy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
  • Conducting thorough analytical evaluations of proposals to ascertain reasonableness, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Managing significant and intricate agency acquisitions involving diverse goods and services.
  • Evaluating technical reports, audit findings, and legal opinions to assess various cost elements or justified exceptions based on factors such as risk, government assistance, capital investment issues, and subcontracting extent.
  • Potentially overseeing formal supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, onboarding, timekeeping oversight, performance evaluations, task management, and supervision of other contract personnel.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant DoD/IC or industry experience, including at least 1 year in an SAP and/or SCI environment within the last 5 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with classified accounting systems; Momentum preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expertise in price cost analysis.
  • Experience with government contracts.
  • Proficiency in pricing government contracts.
  • Understanding of cost realism.
  • Competence in cost analysis.
  • Ability to break down costs.
  • Knowledge of regulations in CAS.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Capability to work under tight deadlines with demanding performance expectations.
  • Willingness to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
  • Ability to successfully complete a government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CI Poly).
