Job Overview

PDS Tech Commercial, Inc. is proud to collaborate with a distinguished client, a frontrunner in electromechanical manufacturing and supply chain solutions, to identify a skilled CNC Operator for our operations.

  • Shift: 1st shift 6am to 2:30pm
  • Compensation: $33.00 to $36.00 per hour

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of both new and existing components and production runs. Your commitment to quality will be essential as you identify malfunctions in machine operations and utilize CNC machinery to fabricate parts adhering to stringent tolerances based on detailed engineering specifications.

Your responsibilities will encompass working with CNC machining centers, multi-spindle drilling machines, manual drilling equipment, single spindle mills, press brakes, and various measurement tools. You may also be tasked with editing CNC programs and interpreting geometric tolerances on technical drawings to ensure parts are manufactured to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret CAD drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to effectively plan and layout work.
  • Safely set up, load components, and operate diverse machining equipment to produce high-quality parts with precise tolerances.
  • Edit existing CNC programs as needed to facilitate the setup and operation of CNC machines.
  • Review machining sequences, speeds, and feeds, providing insights to enhance production methodologies.
  • Input CNC programs for new components, leveraging expertise in numerical control machine operation.
  • Calculate and code machine control parameters such as axis movements, cutting tools, spindle locations, and machining initiation points.
  • Utilize coordinate measuring machines (both manual and automated) and hand tools for quality assurance inspections.
  • Conduct first piece inspections and maintain documentation, monitoring quality metrics using inspection sheets, and performing dimensional checks to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma coupled with trade school training in machining practices and procedures.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience operating Vertical CNC machining centers and general-purpose machining and inspection tools.
  • Expertise in all aspects of setup, operation, program editing, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and their application.

This position involves access to information or facilities governed by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which may restrict access to controlled technologies.
