Position Overview:
Title: Extended School Program Facilitator
Status: Part-Time | Pay Rate: $22/hour
JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves overseeing, managing, and delivering engaging activities that enhance the educational experience for elementary and middle school students beyond the standard school hours. The facilitator may also guide the efforts of other personnel within the Extended School Program. This position aligns with the operational schedule of the Extended School Program, which may vary from the traditional school calendar.
The Extended School Program Facilitator serves as an entry-level role within the district's Extended School Program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with colleagues to document observational data of assigned students using developmental assessment tools.
- Designs, organizes, and leads activities aimed at fostering physical, creative, and social skills for groups of up to twenty (20) students.
- Manages educational activities for assigned students; ensures proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed daily; promptly reports student absences to the site supervisor or Lead Facilitator.
- Develops supplementary learning materials that reinforce the academic curriculum, encourage physical fitness, and stimulate creativity; provides support to students and nurtures their interests in age-appropriate activities.
- Oversees and interacts with students during recreational activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment; attends to the personal needs of students as required.
- Distributes snacks and meals as appropriate; ensures cleanliness of the serving area in accordance with district guidelines.
- Upholds the health and safety of students by adhering to established health regulations.
- Maintains records for all assigned students, documenting their participation and behavior; communicates with parents or guardians regarding their child's activities and strategies used in group settings; participates in parent meetings and orientations.
- Attends staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs as directed.
- Performs administrative tasks as assigned.
- Provides first aid and care for ill or injured students as necessary.
- Assists in the setup, organization, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Carries out other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 48 Semester/60 Quarter College Units or successful completion of the NCLB test.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must successfully complete a Live Scan background check.
- Provide a negative TB test result.
- Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, or both shifts is required.
- Availability Monday through Friday for either shift is necessary.
MORNING SHIFT HOURS:
- Monday to Friday: 6:00 am - 8:00 am (Optional)
AFTERNOON SHIFT HOURS:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm (4 hours)
- Wednesday: 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm (5 hours with a 30-minute break)
