Job Summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Staff Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Global Practice in Denver, CO. As a key member of our project teams, you will be responsible for creating world-class designs for power generation projects at various traditional or renewable power generation facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for a variety of power projects.
  • Design mechanical components for project needs and requirements.
  • Write technical specifications for equipment and material procurement or installation during construction.
  • Apply strong knowledge of mechanical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required by project managers.
  • Communicate with other disciplines' engineers for efficient project coordination.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
  • Field engineering support during construction and startup of power generation plants.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
  • Or Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering may be substituted for 1 year experience.
  • 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Successful completion (i.e., passing) FE or EIT preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
