About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team at HDR. As an EIT, you will play a critical role in creating project deliverables and working collaboratively with a nationwide team to design system enhancements for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage CAD/BIM design staff and junior engineering staff on various project tasks
  • Attend internal and external project coordination meetings
  • Coordinate workload to complete project tasks on schedule
  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations
  • Review mechanical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines
  • Develop control diagrams and sequences to establish operation of building systems
  • Selection, coordination, and layout of HVAC and Plumbing systems and equipment
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
  • Mentor, organize, and motivate less experienced staff
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu
  • Working knowledge of Newforma Project Center and ProjectWise Document Management Software
  • Energy modeling/building energy use assessments
  • LEED or other sustainability accreditations
Preferred Skills
  • Proficient in Revit
  • Command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of building load analysis software
  • Technical and specification writing skills
  • Working knowledge of current industry codes and standards
