Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team at LewisGale Medical Center. As a NICU RN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care to critically ill newborns requiring specialized care.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient-centered nursing care to infants with complex medical conditions, including premature birth and life-threatening illnesses.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and record infants' vital signs, track feeding and medication administration, and perform various medical procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
Requirements
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or current Multistate Compact License.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Neonate Resuscitate NRP certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • PALS and STABLE certifications preferred.
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit preferred.
