Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Science Systems and Applications Inc. in Greenbelt, MD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cleanroom facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of cleanroom equipment and facilities.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Support the maintenance and fabrication team in meeting tool availability and quality objectives.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by maintaining mechanical and lab support areas.
  • Provide technical support for lab tools and infrastructure.
  • Track and communicate activities and issues throughout the day.
Requirements
  • A.S. degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience in maintenance roles.
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance roles in process automation or experience in semiconductor or material processing facilities.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with MS Office programs, including Office Suite and Teams.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Permanent resident or US citizen.
Desired Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Solid Works (or other CAD system).
  • Machine shop experience.
  • PLC experience.
Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
