Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Professional

Second Family, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and accuracy-focused maintenance professional to join our team. This individual will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the upkeep of our facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Review and complete maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with moves, set up for workshops and special events, and perform vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure trash is set out on assigned pick-up days and assist with supply pick-ups.
  • Perform periodic checks and changes, including filter replacements and generator charging.
  • Operate various equipment, including lawn mowers, snow blowers, and other tools.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure they are in good repair and clean ceiling fans monthly.
  • Maintain grounds by removing litter and debris, including seasonal tasks like raking leaves and removing snow.
  • Assist staff with lifting and transferring individuals, if necessary.
  • Work a standard 40-hour workweek and be available for on-call duties.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to keep records confidential.
  • Prior groundskeeping experience preferred.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to read and understand instruction manuals.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience operating mowers, chainsaws, tractors, and other equipment is preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, work on hands/knees, reach above head, and push equipment.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Must be able to dig trenches and holes.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of two hours at a time.
