Job Description

As a key member of the Cirrus Design Corporation team, the Senior Production Supervisor will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities in assigned manufacturing areas. This includes overseeing and ensuring quality and safety of the manufacturing area and its personnel, as well as leading Production Supervisors in assigned shift area(s).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate company vision and organizational goals to assigned manufacturing area(s) in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and implement activities in assigned manufacturing area(s) to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Ensure all safety standards and policies are met, conducting regular observations for safety compliance and correcting unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Monitor employee performance, providing regular feedback, empowering, mentoring, and coaching employees, delivering performance reviews, and assisting employees in setting goals.
  • Assess department training needs, oversee department training programs, and drive training initiatives.
  • Lead 6S throughout assigned areas, setting and holding teams accountable to area standards.
  • Participate in the layered process audit program, ensuring quality and Cirrus process and procedure are met, driving RCCA in areas where non-conformances are identified, and ensuring timely completion of open mitigations.
  • Coordinate and provide input to engineering staff, participating in new product launches.
  • Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Maintain operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, reviewing production and operating reports, and resolving operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Set a standard of teamwork in assigned areas, coaching and guiding employees, setting plans for improvement, increasing production, overcoming obstacles, and achieving on-time delivery with zero defects to internal customers.
  • Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services.
  • Lead KPIs (Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost) improvement through continuous improvement and lean initiatives, continually striving for process improvement, cost reduction, and labor hour reduction in assigned areas.
  • Work to reduce scrap and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and work to stay within guidelines for overtime while supporting personnel management and monitoring absenteeism.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace engineering, business administration, or related field with 8 years of related experience and minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Cirrus Design's manufacturing processes preferred.
