Job Summary:

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work with our developmentally disabled and brain injured clients in their residential programs. As a Per Diem RN, you will be responsible for advocating and instituting appropriate nursing interventions for all medical needs of assigned program participants, focusing on optimal health for all individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and coordinate healthcare services for participants.

• Institute appropriate follow-up and communicate all medical issues to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical licensed providers, Area Director, Nursing RN Supervisor, and/or Health Care Director, and any other appropriate DDS staff.

• Document all nursing interventions and changes affecting the individual in appropriate areas – daily log, progress notes, staff communication log, Nurses Notes, and any other identified system for communication purposes.

• Maintain current medication and treatment orders according to MAP standards, noting any side effects/adverse effects and report to appropriate people.

• Assist in training staff in personal care, positioning, feeding, use of supportive devices.

• Accompany patients to medical appointments/Day Programs.

Requirements:

• Valid MA Nursing License.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

• Physical ability to perform the requirements of the position.

• Good communication and computer skills.
