Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at The GEO Group. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services to inmates/detainees in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with our Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments and medical histories
  • Provide nursing care within your scope of practice and refer complex medical issues to the appropriate physician
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient responses
  • Evaluate patient symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report any concerns to management
  • Ensure the secure administration of medication and adherence to industry and company accreditation policies
  • Document all patient interactions and maintain confidential medical records
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current, unrestricted license to practice as a LPN in the state where the facility is located
  • Minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience as a LPN, preferably in a correctional or healthcare setting
  • Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide follow-through treatment
  • Proficiency in using computers and relevant software
  • Valid state driver's license (Oklahoma state requirement)
