About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at CarbonFree. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance: Prioritize safety at all times by following established procedures and using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Participate in safety training and promote a safe work environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Mechanical Equipment Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, blowers, and heat exchangers. Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize performance. Collaborate with other maintenance crafts as needed.
  • Pump Systems and Equipment Maintenance: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of pump systems, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, and reciprocating pumps. Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and alignment of pumps. Troubleshoot and diagnose pump-related issues, such as cavitation, impeller wear, and seal leaks. Understand pump curves and efficiency calculations. Expertise in mechanical seals, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of different seal types (e.g., single, double, cartridge) and their applications. Ensure proper sealing to prevent leaks and optimize pump performance. Conduct precision alignment of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, and compressors) using laser alignment tools. Perform vibration analysis to detect early signs of equipment wear or misalignment. Interpret vibration data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): Utilize CMMS software to track maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment history. Input maintenance data, including labor hours, parts used, and maintenance tasks performed. Generate reports for management on equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and downtime.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or completed GED.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience in welding, fabrication, repair, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Basic Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to climb stairs, work in confined spaces, lift 40 lbs., bend, and stoop.
  • Willingness to work an 8-hour or 10-hours shift including weekend and overtime when necessary.
  • Strong teamwork skills and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, man lift, and scissors lift.
  • Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English).
  • Proficiency in basic PC skills and mathematics.
