Position Overview:
The Integration Domain Architect is responsible for shaping and supporting the implementation of Brooks' enterprise integration strategies, services, and best practices. This role ensures alignment with our Enterprise Architecture principles and the business objectives of Brooks.
The integration focus at Brooks revolves around connecting both on-premises and cloud-based commercial software applications within our technology framework, as well as collaborating with data partners to facilitate data as a service for internal and external stakeholders. This position also entails the development and maintenance of an integration architecture blueprint, which includes a comprehensive catalog of integrations and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Integration Architecture:
- Serve as the solution architect for new and modified integrations, encompassing solution modeling, documentation, and presentations to the Architecture Review Board.
- Establish and manage the enterprise integration services catalog, outlining available solution components and integration patterns for data provisioning.
- Maintain an enterprise integration registry documenting all data integrations and services.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to define integration standards and guidelines, offering guidance to the architecture community and delivery teams.
- Define target capabilities for Enterprise Integration solutions as part of the Technology business platform.
- Set standards for integration technical specifications and support documentation.
- Lead efforts in defining enterprise services platforms and guidelines for public-facing API enablement.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving integration-related issues.
- Cross-Functional Architecture:
- Support domain architects and project teams by identifying solution options for data integration needs.
- Ensure adherence to integration standards and best practices among architects and project teams.
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board to ensure compliance with integration architecture standards.
- Align integration services with cloud operating models in collaboration with the Infrastructure team.
- Define and adopt canonical message schemas for enterprise data resources in conjunction with the Enterprise Architect and Enterprise Information Management.
- Enterprise Solutions Support:
- Provide direct support for integration services in the Enterprise Solutions area, including architecture and design.
- Support integration solutions managed by the Enterprise Applications team, focusing on operability and security considerations.
- Advise team members on monitoring, troubleshooting, and upgrading integration solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience with integration solutions and supporting infrastructure.
- At least 3 years of experience in API design and management.
- Proven experience with various enterprise data integration technologies.
- Experience with enterprise middleware solutions is essential; familiarity with Infor ION is preferred.
- Experience in integration development, workflow design, and solution support.
- Knowledge of cloud services, preferably AWS and Azure.
- Understanding of integration patterns, SOAP and REST services, and message formats.
- Strong knowledge of integration and data architecture standards.
- Proficiency in backend development languages and database technologies.
- Experience in technical mentoring and solution design.
- High level of data literacy and technical documentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the wholesale and/or retail industry is a plus.
