Pharmacy Technician Role Overview

**About the Position:**

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Regional Hospital of Scranton. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to compound and dispense medical prescriptions. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring the safe handling of hazardous materials.

**Responsibilities:**

* Compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist
* Performs related clerical duties, including receiving and storing incoming supplies
* Verifies stock and enters data via the computer to maintain inventory records
* Prepares cytotoxic drugs in Class IIA vertical hood

**Requirements:**

* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Pharmacy technician certification is preferred
* Six (6) months experience is preferred
* May be expected to meet certain state certifications
