We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Technician to join our team at Scranton Hospital Company. As a Surgical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
- Prepare and sterilize equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet the necessary standards.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including gathering and arranging necessary equipment and surgical tools.
- Pass surgical tools to the surgeon and the surgeon's assistant, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Count and verify all instruments and equipment used during surgery, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Apply dressings to surgical sites and dispose of needles and gauze, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Graduate of an accredited operating room technical program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist through the NBSTSA or NCCT.
- Current BLS certification.
