ROLE SUMMARY:

The Early Head Start Teacher I-III plays a crucial role in executing the program within a designated EHS classroom while ensuring adherence to established guidelines. This position involves nurturing and educating young children and their families, fostering an engaging learning atmosphere while complying with educational standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a secure classroom and outdoor play area
  • Create individualized lesson plans tailored to each child's needs
  • Support children in developing self-care and hygiene practices
  • Maintain accurate records and conduct ongoing evaluations
  • Engage in team meetings and professional development sessions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is mandatory
  • Associate's degree in Child Development or a related discipline is preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in early childhood education
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is essential
  • Must successfully complete background checks and possess reliable transportation

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Familiarity with Child Care programs is advantageous
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Capacity to make prompt decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel for training or meetings may be necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee must be capable of lifting and carrying children, as well as sitting, standing, bending, walking, and demonstrating manual dexterity.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The position is primarily based in a childcare setting, with moderate exposure to various working conditions and noise levels.
