Key Responsibilities

This position acts as a vital resource for healthcare providers, patients, and their families, aiming to elevate health education and literacy among oncology patients. The Coordinator is tasked with the creation of educational materials, the application and assessment of evidence-based practices, and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and regulatory standards concerning patient education.

The Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and activities that empower patients and their families to engage effectively in their healthcare.
  • Building and managing project teams while maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing multiple project demands, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Developing and coordinating educational resources related to cancer treatment, prevention, screening, follow-up, and survivorship, along with other pertinent health issues.
  • Providing expert consultation on cancer-related resources and support.

The Coordinator must demonstrate a broad understanding of healthcare, particularly in oncology, health education, adult learning methodologies, and project management. Projects may vary in duration and format, encompassing both print and digital media.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is required, with a Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should possess prior experience in health education, patient care, and educational programming, along with progressive leadership experience in collaborative healthcare environments. Knowledge of adult learning principles, plain language communication, health literacy, and proven project management skills are essential. A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required, with four to eight years preferred.
