Position Overview:

True North Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nurse Assistant to oversee our team of Professional Care Providers. The CNA Supervisor will work closely with the Office Manager and CEO, ensuring that all care providers and CNAs receive the guidance and support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct interviews, hire, and train new Care Providers (caregivers).
  • Facilitate a comprehensive orientation and onboarding process for all new hires to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles in non-medical home care.
  • Provide skills training for both CNAs and unlicensed care providers, covering essential activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hoyer lift operation, sit/stand lift assistance, catheter care, and more.
  • Assist the CEO and Office Manager/Scheduler with administrative tasks while also stepping in as a care provider when staffing shortages occur.
  • Address challenges such as high employee turnover rates, unpredictable scheduling needs, and the necessity for flexibility in response to client requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Office Manager or CEO.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active CNA License; LPN candidates are also welcome. (CMA, MA, and phlebotomist certifications are not accepted).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Strong foundational CNA skills.
  • Excellent mathematical abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated patience and resilience in handling client and employee feedback.
  • Professional demeanor in all communications and conduct.
  • Flexible scheduling availability, including early morning and late evening shifts.
  • Current Driver's License and active car insurance.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based work with occasional field responsibilities.
  • Standard hours from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with weekend on-call duties.
  • Potential for evening work as needed.
  • On-call supervisors must be prepared to find coverage for call-outs and may need to cover shifts themselves.
  • Overtime may be required on occasion.
  • Quiet office environment with personal workspace.
  • Interviews for care providers will be a regular part of the role.
  • Ability to work in homes with pets, as many clients have animals.
  • Must be able to drive to various service areas as needed.
