As a Certified Nursing Assistant, your role will encompass assisting residents with their personal care requirements, enabling them to uphold their hygiene, engage in daily activities, and maintain their overall health.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Guiding residents in personal care tasks such as grooming, hygiene, dressing, and nutrition.
- Responding to residents' needs through signal lights, bells, or intercom systems with a proactive mindset.
- Monitoring and documenting vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, as instructed.
- Assisting residents with mobility, including walking and repositioning.
- Performing housekeeping tasks, such as changing bed linens and running errands.
- Supporting residents during meal times and encouraging participation in community activities.
- Listening to residents' concerns and promptly reporting observations to the care team.
- Promoting the physical, emotional, and personal wellbeing of each resident, striving to help them achieve maximum independence.
- Understanding and respecting residents' Advance Directives.
- Facilitating effective communication between staff and residents' families regarding care and wellbeing.
- Collaborating with colleagues and management, demonstrating initiative and conflict resolution skills as necessary.
- Meeting the physical demands of the role, which may include lifting and moving residents.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
To qualify for the Certified Nursing Assistant position, you should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program is preferred.
- Experience in a similar role is preferred.
- CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in using Internet browsers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Reliability in meeting scheduling requirements.
- A solid understanding of senior living care regulations and practices.
