POSITION SUMMARY:
This role involves the preparation and delivery of wholesome meals for students, ensuring a safe and healthy dining experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares and serves meals according to established menus and portion sizes as per yield guidelines.
2. Conducts cleaning tasks, including sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment and workspaces, and washing dishes and pots.
3. Prepares beverages, operates beverage machines, and organizes hot and cold food stations.
4. Distributes food to staff, students, and during catering events as required.
5. Adheres to all local, state, and federal health regulations for safe food handling.
6. Follows security protocols and guidelines specific to the client location.
7. Inspects and stores incoming supplies efficiently.
8. Observes assigned break schedules.
9. Collects and cleans trays for dishwashing and assists in ware washing when assigned.
10. Organizes utensils, dishes, glasses, and cookware.
11. Participates in safety committees and attends mandatory training sessions.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
1. Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by Whitsons Culinary Group.
2. Supports the mission and objectives established by the organization.
3. Meets all food handling certification requirements.
4. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Proficiency in English to understand and execute job tasks.
2. Previous experience in food service is preferred.
3. Maintains a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
1. Regularly required to sit, walk, talk, and hear.
2. Use hands and fingers to handle or operate tools and reach with arms.
3. Must be able to stand for the majority of the workday and walk frequently.
4. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, including turning while lifting.
5. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is primarily conducted in a kitchen and serving area:
1. Requires standing for extended periods.
2. Involves movement in and out of storage areas and freezers.
3. Exposure to varying temperatures due to cooking and refrigeration.
4. The noise level in the work environment can range from moderate to loud.
