Job Title: Technology Governance Support Analyst

This position plays a crucial role in supporting the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships and collaborations, and embracing technology. The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) leverages data and technology to advance goals and inform action and accountability.

Job Summary

The Technology Governance Support Analyst will serve as a key member of the Information Technology Manager II (ITM II), Chief, Application Technology Services Branch (ATSB), and will function as a Business Technology Support Analyst. The incumbent will assist the organization with the development and implementation of processes to enable, operate, and mature key technology governance bodies such as the Reportable Conditions and Immunizations (RCI) Board and other Public Health Technology Governance (PHTG) bodies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes to enable, operate, and mature key technology governance bodies.
  • Support the organization in creating innovative solutions, strengthening partnerships and collaborations, and embracing technology.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners, including the California Department of Technology (CDT), State and Federal Control Agencies, vendor consultants, local health departments, other state departments, and IT personnel.
  • Exercise independence and proficiency in problem-solving, handling, and resolving operational issues that may be time-sensitive and publicly and politically visible.
Requirements
  • Experience in IT and Business Governance.
  • Knowledge of information technology concepts, software, hardware, system design, security, architecture, and IT.
  • Ability to research, problem-solve, and troubleshoot challenging business issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Working Conditions

This position may be eligible for telework up to three (3) days per week and is required to report in-person to the designated headquarters office location a minimum of two (2) days per week. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH's Telework Program.
