The Senior Data Analytics Developer collaborates closely with stakeholders to create reporting solutions that deliver valuable insights for informed decision-making. This role leverages the data infrastructure and associated databases to address organizational challenges through comprehensive reports, analytical insights, and data visualization techniques. Additionally, the Senior Data Analytics Developer will offer expertise in data warehousing, focusing on data architecture, accessibility, security, and the integrity of information assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and develop technical specifications, deployment documentation, and other supporting materials for gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Design, develop, and oversee reporting catalogs, including evaluating new requests against existing resources and making recommendations for content adjustments.
  • Integrate identified strategies across various reporting initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives and management priorities.
  • Assist in aligning reporting projects with the Enterprise Architecture framework.
  • Facilitate the integration of diverse data sources within the data platform/data warehouse into the overall reporting structure.
  • Provide specialized architectural oversight, governance, and solution management across all reporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Principal Solutions Architects to ensure optimal alignment of the data platform design/process with reporting tools for enhanced performance and improved user experience.
  • Work collaboratively on project teams, engaging in systems and data analysis, design, development, integration, and enhancement activities, along with related maintenance and complex production support.
  • Assist in defining the project scope for multiple intricate projects with support from the project team and serve as a point of contact when necessary.
  • Participate in functional, technical, and user acceptance testing efforts and address identified issues.
  • Construct and modify database tables and views while optimizing SQL queries and indexes.
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of reporting best practices and standards.
  • Monitor and manage report development request queue tickets.
  • Review reporting requests, release plans, and enhancement requests for impact assessment and prioritization.
  • Build effective partnerships with colleagues and coordinate collective efforts to achieve team, departmental, and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, report development, and data source management.
  • Proven expertise in developing reporting architectures, dashboards, and portals utilizing Power BI.
  • In-depth knowledge of business intelligence security and administration principles related to Power BI.
  • Thorough understanding of Power BI technology and the Microsoft BI stack.
  • Proficient in advanced-level computations on Power BI datasets.
  • Familiarity with MS SQL Server BI Stack tools and technologies such as SSRS, TSQL, Power Query, MDX, and DAX.
  • Ability to articulate a roadmap from the current reporting and analytics landscape to a future-oriented model with clearly defined milestones.
  • Experience in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience and understanding of various programming languages and systems, along with data design and project management methodologies.
  • Experience in customizing BI portals in Power BI.
  • Experience in installing, upgrading, and configuring Power BI across multiple servers or cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a project-based environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in Data Warehousing.
  • Experience and knowledge in at least one area of business, such as sales, manufacturing, or planning.
