We operate six single adult shelters and six family shelters, offering a range of programs and services to address the unique needs of our clients. Our Magnolia House Women's Shelter in Brooklyn serves 200 single women at any given time, providing them with a safe and structured space to heal and grow.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Recreation Aide to join our team at the Magnolia House Women's Shelter. As a Recreation Aide, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing recreational programs that promote social development, physical activity, and overall well-being among our clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the creation of engaging recreational activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities
  • Organizing and leading group sessions to foster social connections and community building
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients and upholding confidentiality
  • Collaborating with the Recreation Coordinator to design and implement program content
  • Tracking equipment and supplies, ensuring proper use of recreation facilities, and monitoring client progress

Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for working with vulnerable populations

Compensation:**
