As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, management, and maintenance of equipment and software related to PLC and SCADA systems. These systems are essential for monitoring and controlling various operational processes.

Your primary focus will be on providing Software and Controls expertise for site projects, which may involve enhancements to existing systems or the implementation of new installations.

Your responsibilities will largely revolve around software-related tasks, including but not limited to: troubleshooting, testing Logic coding, and executing modifications to the existing Controls Infrastructure in response to operational needs. You will also participate in HAZOP Studies and PHA's as a representative for Software and Controls.

Your Responsibilities:
- Provide expert knowledge of PLC systems, specifically Omron and Allen-Bradley.
- Offer expertise in SCADA systems, particularly Wonderware (Intouch) and Inductive Automation's (Ignition) SCADA packages.


- Support project teams during the initial design phases by advising on the selection of software and controls equipment to enhance plant reliability and maintainability.
- Design, develop, install, manage, and maintain equipment and software as required.
- Implement and continuously review the controls strategy to meet both current and future business needs.
- Ensure compliance with recognized standards regarding alarm management and safety-related control functions to guarantee process safety.
- Interpret technical drawings for effective planning, execution, and specification of materials necessary for job duties.

Requirements for the Role:
- Hold a formal qualification in Electronics/Controls, such as a Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent recognized training.
- Possess skills in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) (Omron, Allen-Bradley) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), with a preference for experience with Wonderware.
- Have experience in large-scale manufacturing or chemical facilities within a software/controls function.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, architecture, and administration.
- Knowledge and experience with Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016), Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2008, 2012), Active Directory, Terminal Services, and Thin Client architecture.
- Ability to read and understand Instrument and Electrical drawings.
