Medical Billing Specialist

University Physicians' Association is seeking a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for our patients.
Remote work options are available for this position, with a required on-site training period in Knoxville, TN for a minimum of 90 days. Some positions may also require intermittent time in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements to resolve denials or partially paid claims.
- Correspond with clients to resolve inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify payer trends and notify manager of negative trends.
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports.
Requirements:
- High School education or equivalency, medical billing courses and/or higher education a plus.
- Good computer, written, & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes is not required but preferred.
