About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and rehabilitating patients with communication and oral-pharyngeal disorders of functional or neurological origin. This will involve developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans to facilitate patient recovery and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients with communication and swallowing disorders to identify areas of need and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve patient outcomes and quality of life
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records to inform treatment decisions and assess program effectiveness
  • Mentor and train staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in speech-language pathology
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Texas
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • At least one year of experience in speech-language pathology, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
