We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team at the Bureau of Public Health Clinics. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing medical care and treatment to patients with tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
Job Summary:The Physician will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, including performing histories and physicals, evaluating laboratory and microbiologic data, and developing treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in infectious disease medicine and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:- Perform histories and physicals, evaluate laboratory and microbiologic data, and develop treatment plans for patients with tuberculosis and other infectious diseases.
- Supervise or formulate treatments and interventions, including complex regimens for patients with drug-resistant and multidrug-resistant TB.
- Monitor and ensure patient compliance during treatment.
- Participate in the implementation of patient care protocols in the care and treatment of latent TB infection or active TB disease in the BPHC chest centers.
- Oversee the work of other City Medical Specialists, healthcare providers, and BPHC staff in the evaluation and treatment of tuberculosis.
- Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of New York.
- Either valid Board Certification issued by the appropriate American Specialty Board in any specialty area required by the agency, or current approved application on file for admission to the certifying examination given by the appropriate American Specialty Board in any specialty area required by the agency.
The Physician will work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate complex medical information to patients and healthcare providers.
