Position Overview

The Life Safety Systems Inspector is tasked with performing regular evaluations, assessments, and maintenance on various life safety product lines, including Electrical, Sprinkler, and Suppression systems, as well as comparable products from other manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

Inspectors will:

  • Engage with low voltage wiring and related devices essential for the functionality of low voltage systems.
  • Document service acknowledgments accurately using communication tools such as laptops or physical records.
  • Adhere to a meticulously organized inspection timetable.
  • Manage the input, retrieval, and archiving of inspection records through digital platforms.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned inspections.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
Operational Approach

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, with training provided for new hires.
  • Skills in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals, with training available.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and multi-meters.
  • A demonstrated ability to troubleshoot systems and execute minor repairs.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Five to ten years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and Fire and/or Life Safety Systems.
  • A strong aptitude for troubleshooting.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to handle equipment and tools weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in challenging positions, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to accommodate client needs.
  • Readiness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work under supervision.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive demeanor, and a quick learning ability.
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses as mandated by National, State, and Local regulations.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical documents.
  • 1-3 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
  • NICET certification is advantageous.
