Job Description

Toole Design Group is seeking an experienced and talented full-time Planner in Albuquerque, NM. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of innovative transportation solutions that prioritize multimodal transportation, active transportation, and community engagement.

About the Role

This Planner position will focus on transportation planning, public engagement, and transportation mapping and analysis. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of diverse communities. Your expertise will be essential in creating transportation networks that are safe, accessible, and equitable for all users.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct transportation planning and analysis to identify opportunities for multimodal transportation and active transportation
  • Develop and implement public engagement strategies to involve communities in the planning process
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver transportation projects that meet client needs
  • Conduct transportation mapping and analysis using ArcGIS and/or QGIS
  • Prepare and present planning documents and reports to clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, urban design, engineering, public health, or a related field
  • Experience with ArcGIS and/or QGIS and creating webmaps
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and multi-phased projects
  • Strong cultural competency with people from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior planning experience at a consulting firm, public entity, non-profit, or higher learning institution
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Experience with bicycle and pedestrian projects
  • Experience conducting public outreach and engagement
