Position Summary
This role is designed for individuals participating in a Certified Nursing Assistant program approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON). As a trainee, you will work under the guidance of professional nursing staff to deliver direct patient care, while developing your clinical skills in an acute care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care tailored to the individual needs of patients.
- Assist patients with personal grooming and hygiene, including bathing procedures.
- Support patients with eating and drinking, while educating them on nutrition's significance in health.
- Employ basic observational skills to monitor and report patient conditions.
- Collect and document intake and output data for various patients.
- Utilize the electronic health record system for patient care documentation.
- Implement proper infection control measures.
- Assist patients with mobility and perform range of motion exercises.
- Understand and support activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting assistance.
- Administer specific treatments under supervision for a diverse patient population.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide post-operative care.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Enrollment in a Certified Nursing Assistant program approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) is required.
