Foster Care Specialist

KVC Health Systems is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Foster/Adoptive Care Case Manager to join our team in Marion and surrounding areas. As a key member of our treatment team, you will work closely with children and families to provide support and guidance in areas of need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a child welfare system that is safe, secure, and stable, family-centered, and connected to the community.
- Act as a member of the treatment team and provide feedback on client progress.
- Make required home visits to the foster or adoptive home a minimum of two times per month or as directed by the treatment plan.
- Make at least one time per month school visits or as directed by the child's treatment plan.
- Meet with all Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and attend all IEP meetings.
- Travel to multiple counties in a service area and work in homes of families that are served.
- Be knowledgeable in areas of child development, parenting skills, and trauma.
- Ensure that all child placing and Medicaid standards are met through documentation and keeping the child's chart up to date.
- Have knowledge of Medically and Socially Necessary services techniques and proper documentation of these services.
- Have knowledge of de-escalation techniques.
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
- Work with all community members involved in the child's life, including the birth mother or birth extended family.
- Provide supervised visitation and document the outcome of the visits.
- Have a good working relationship with the Department of Health and Human Services.
- Meet with Foster/Medically Necessary Supervisor for a minimum of one hour bi-weekly to provide supervision.
- Participate in administrative supervision as requested.
- Meet performance expectations, including contract requirements, timelines, regulations, and laws.
- Provide direct services per program state and contract guidelines.
- Complete all required paperwork and follow agency policies and procedures within timelines to ensure smooth paperwork flow.
- Participate in all scheduled meetings, court hearings, consultations, and staff meetings as required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social services field.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners or equivalent board. License is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in children and family services with preferable knowledge and demonstrated experience of the WV Medicaid Program.
