Leidos Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager - Electric Utilities to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery Services division, you will be responsible for managing various sized distribution electric utility projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the Southeast.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in managing scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance. You will be responsible for ensuring project costs, schedule, and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits.

You will also be responsible for driving work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables. Additionally, you will develop financial controls reports to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal review.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage various sized distribution electric utility projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the Southeast.
  • Responsible for overall project performance as well as managing the scope, schedule, budget, and safety performance.
  • Ensure project costs, schedule, and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits.
  • Drive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables.
  • Develop financial controls reports to produce weekly/monthly reports for client and internal review.
  • Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, costs, schedule, and risks across a portfolio of distribution projects.
  • Interfacing and communicating with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
  • Assist with the preparation of bid documents, development of requests for proposal responses, and cost estimates.
  • Proposal development: including scope, schedule, and budget development.
  • Writing comprehensive and technical project reports.
  • Monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Creation and maintenance of client and office resource-loaded schedules.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Business, or Finance required with 4-8 years' of relevant Project Management experience or a Master's with 2-6 years of relevant PM experience.
  • Must demonstrate recent and in-depth expertise in electric power infrastructure projects and transmission and distribution design.
  • PMP Certification is desired.
  • Must have demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services.
  • Periodic travel is required; Candidates should possess a valid US Driver's License.
