Overview

The Loss Prevention Specialist is tasked with supporting security and loss prevention initiatives within the Distribution Center, aligning with divisional goals. Responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, delivering security services to management and associates within the distribution center.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee loss prevention and shortage control initiatives, actively identifying various forms of loss, encouraging participation in shortage control, and assisting in the development of shortage control strategies.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, including drivers and sales representatives.
  • Safeguard the company’s warehouse, offices, and assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and unauthorized access.
  • Utilize diverse methods to monitor and assist in tracking product shortages.
  • Investigate reports of known or suspected internal theft, violence, or other criminal activities involving associates.
  • Provide oversight and support in managing third-party security services.
  • Conduct compliance audits related to company shrinkage within the distribution center and facilitate improvements in shrinkage outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with various agencies as necessary, coordinating investigations with internal or external entities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of relevant experience.

Physical Demands

This role involves significant physical activity, including prolonged periods of sitting and typing on a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine. Physical activities include extensive walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping. Additional hours may be necessary during peak periods.

Must be capable of frequently lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling weights of up to 56 lbs. This position is classified as safety-sensitive, requiring any candidate offered employment to successfully pass a drug test, including a marijuana test.
