Janitorial Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Janitorial Specialist to join our team at Building Services of America. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our production floors, machinery, and storage spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Execute thorough and repetitive cleaning tasks in designated areas, adhering to established sanitation procedures and using cleaning agents and sanitizers to maintain a sterile manufacturing environment.
- Ensure restrooms and breakrooms are cleaned, stocked, and meet hygiene standards.
- Collect and dispose of waste, following proper protocols for cleanliness and contamination prevention.
- Conduct regular floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and deep cleaning with commercial equipment as directed.
- Safely handle cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
- Focus on machinery and conveyor system cleaning to prevent build-up and maintain efficient production.
- Keep track of cleaning supplies, notifying supervisors for reordering.
- Possess knowledge of safe handling and storing of cleaning products and chemicals.
- Adhere to safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow emergency response procedures.
- Ensure a hazard-free environment for staff and visitors.
- Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas, removing debris, snow, or ice for safe access.
- Speak with supervisors and facility staff to address cleaning needs promptly.
- Report maintenance or repair issues to designated supervisors for resolution.
- Maintain awareness of security protocols and report suspicious activities to appropriate authorities.
- Exhibit professionalism, courtesy, and respect when interacting with staff and visitors.
- Open to flexible work hours, including occasional evening or weekend shifts for special cleaning projects.
- Basic understanding of cleaning, trainable, ability to read basic operating instructions.
- Preferred: One year of janitorial/custodial experience.
- Knowledge of vacuum cleaners, manual and automatic scrubbers, shampooing equipment, various-size mops, cleaning chemicals, and miscellaneous equipment.
