Position Overview

The Keewaydin Environmental Education Center (KEEC) is in search of passionate environmental education facilitators to engage with young learners in a dynamic and immersive educational setting.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate and instruct small groups of students in grades 5 and 6, focusing on a comprehensive 5-day, 4-night residential program that explores the intricacies of human, plant, and animal ecosystems.

Lead in-depth field studies and evening sessions centered around natural sciences, local history, ecological impacts, and land utilization. Additional duties include overseeing daily meal services and participating in bi-weekly overnight stays in student accommodations.



REQUIREMENTS:

A strong enthusiasm for educating youth about the marvels of the natural environment while exemplifying the principles of a supportive and functional community.

Candidates must hold a college degree with a focus on natural history, science, or environmental education.

Applicants should be at least 21 years old, possess current CPR and First Aid certifications, have a valid driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record.


COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

The position offers a weekly salary of $550, inclusive of room and board. Staff accommodations are provided in rustic wooden cabins situated near the lake, surrounded by a stunning mountainous landscape. There are also opportunities for continued employment beyond the KEEC season, including summer camps and potentially extending into the fall season.
