Job Summary

The Pennsylvania State University Office of Budget and Finance is seeking a highly skilled Floating Financial Associate to provide support to financial operations across the University. This role is designed to provide assistance when vacancies or projects require additional help, and is geared towards providing comprehensive financial support to faculty and staff in Academic and/or Administrative units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in timely reconciliation of purchasing card transactions
  • Process travel reimbursements using SAP Concur
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures, as well as funding source spending guidelines
  • Process purchase orders and various catalog orders, including confirming receipt of Goods/Services
  • Review and entry of a variety of journal entries into the University Financial system
  • Provide excellent customer service and advise on policy and procedures
  • Process accurate and timely payments using various methods: purchasing card, purchase order, non-po invoice
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on providing supportive and responsive service
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Team player attitude with a commitment to creating a positive and efficient working environment
  • Knowledge of the University's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, System for Integrated Management, Budgeting, and Accounting - SIMBA (SAP/S4HANA) and SAP Concur desired
Education and Experience

This position will be filled at the Intermediate Support level, and minimally requires a High School Diploma/GED or Vocational Training/Degree and 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Work Arrangement

This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
