Job Title: Virtual Design and Construction Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist to join our team at The Bowa Group Inc. in New York City.

Job Summary:

The VDC Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in Virtual Design and Construction for various construction projects. This includes creating and managing detailed 3D models using VDC tools and software to support design, construction, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Development: Create and manage detailed 3D models using VDC tools and software to support design, construction, and operations.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Facilitate coordination meetings and workshops to resolve design and construction conflicts using VDC models.
  • Integration and Implementation: Integrate VDC processes into project workflows and ensure that all stakeholders are effectively using the models for decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare VDC documentation, including clash detection reports, 4D schedules, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to project teams on VDC tools and best practices.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated with the latest VDC technologies and methodologies, and propose improvements to enhance project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in VDC software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience in Virtual Design and Construction, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues within models.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration among diverse project teams.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in model creation and review.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry advancements.
