We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our team at Crye Precision LLC. As a Technical Designer, you will play a critical role in transitioning new products from development into production.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fashion or apparel technical design, with experience in CAD design, pattern making, and manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing product design tech packs, patterns, and samples, and providing feedback on design, construction details, and manufacturability.

Additionally, you will work with product designers, pattern makers, and production teams to design efficient production markers for a wide range of sizes and products. You will also be responsible for process development, analyzing complicated apparel and gear construction sequences, and writing manufacturing/work instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem solving: Use technical design skills to solve a wide variety of challenging problems related to the manufacturing of tactical apparel and gear products.
  • Design Analysis: Analyze product design tech packs, patterns, and samples, and provide feedback on design, construction details, and manufacturability.
  • Marker Making: Work with product designers, pattern makers, and production teams to design efficient production markers for a wide range of sizes and products.
  • Process Development: Analyze complicated apparel and gear construction sequences, and write manufacturing/work instructions.
  • Teamwork: Work with cross-functional teams to create manufacturing solutions for high-quality, high-throughput production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in fashion or apparel technical design or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years' experience in fashion industry, apparel design, or similar.
  • Strong 2D/3D CAD skills (Gerber, AutoCAD, Draftsight, Vstitcher, CLO/MD, Browzewear, etc.).
  • Strong tech pack design skills: pattern development, garment construction, cut/trims list, BOM's.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills (design portfolio, products, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Apparel manufacturing: Experience sewing, cutting, trimming, bonding, fabric welding, sealing.
  • Automated Sewing Systems: Experience programming/troubleshooting pattern tackers, bar tackers, buttonhole, and other automated sewing systems (Juki, Brother, Jack, Sunstar, etc.).
  • Tech Designer Skills: Pattern making, grading, BOM's, fittings, construction details, Gerber.
  • Fashion Industry: Garment design, overseas manufacturing, vendor interaction.
  • Sporting goods: Climbing harnesses, footwear, rain gear, outerwear, Velcro.
  • Military Experience: Knowledge of military apparel or gear design requirements and applications.

Language Ability: Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin).
