Job Summary:
The role of a Surgical Specialty-Operative Physician Assistant is to provide high-quality patient care as a licensed, certified non-physician healthcare provider. This position involves rendering direct patient care, possessing delegated prescriptive authority, and being credentialed and privileged within the healthcare system.

Essential Functions:
1. Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess patients' physical and mental conditions.
2. Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to determine patient problems and healthcare needs.
3. Prescribe, recommend, and employ medical drug therapies or therapeutic treatments and procedures in accordance with approved policies, considering efficacy, safety, and cost.
4. Develop and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on assessments, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and collaboration with physicians and other team members when necessary.
5. Evaluate patients' responses to healthcare provided and the effectiveness of care.

Counseling and Education:
Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, health condition management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Advise patients about drug regimens and potential side effects or interactions with other substances.

Record Keeping and Consultation:
Maintain accurate records detailing treatment plans and outcomes. Initiate timely consultation and referral when issues exceed the scope of practice and/or expertise.

Consultation and Management:
Provide consultation-level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider's specialty, level of experience, and training. Manage patients in various healthcare settings, including inpatient, emergency services, surgical, procedural, etc.

Key Success Factors:
1. Knowledge of information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities, including symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties, and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.
2. Knowledge of practices, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
3. Verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving abilities.
4. Skill in using computers and related software applications. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans, counsel patients concerning medical and psychological/psychiatric conditions, treatment plans, and behavior modification, and interpret and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests.

Benefits:
This role comes with a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $130,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits, 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%, tuition reimbursement, and PTO accrual beginning Day 1.

Qualifications:
- Grad of an Accredited Program
- Less than 1 Year of Experience
- Certification/LICENSE/REGISTRATION: Physician Assistants (PA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS): within 30 days of hire or transfer.
