Position Overview

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you will be essential in fostering and maintaining oral health within our practice. Your key responsibilities will encompass performing dental cleanings, educating patients on effective oral hygiene practices, and collaborating with the dental team to guarantee comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive dental evaluations, including reviewing medical histories and assessing oral health conditions.
  • Perform screenings for oral cancer and other dental diseases.
  • Administer professional dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and prophylaxis.
  • Eliminate plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth.
  • Instruct patients on effective oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional advice.
  • Guide patients on maintaining optimal oral health between dental visits.
  • Assist in diagnosing and treating periodontal diseases.
  • Collaborate with the dentist to formulate treatment plans for patients with gum disease.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays as part of the diagnostic process.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols.
  • When applicable, apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay.
  • When appropriate, administer antimicrobial agents to manage periodontal disease.
  • Maintain accurate and current patient records, including documenting treatment plans and procedures performed.
  • Record clinical notes and observations diligently.
  • Work closely with the dentist and dental assistants to coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Engage in case discussions and treatment planning.
  • Follow strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
  • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment meticulously.
Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program.
  • Current and valid state dental hygiene license.
  • Proficient in performing dental cleanings and other preventive procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral pathology, and periodontal diseases.
  • Familiarity with dental instruments and equipment.
  • Certification in dental radiography.
  • Competence in taking and developing dental X-rays.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and patient confidentiality.
  • Dedication to continuing education and staying updated on industry trends.
