Qualifications:

  • Engages in the evaluation of actual and anticipated operational activities to derive a quantitative and logical foundation for decision-making through the application of scientific and economic methodologies.
  • Assists in the development of models and measurement techniques; employs mathematical, statistical, and engineering methods, including operational mathematics techniques (such as linear programming, game theory, and probability theory), alongside other scientific and economic principles.
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the Cyber Research domain, providing consultation on technical solutions for a broad spectrum of complex challenges that align with organizational objectives.
  • Must hold a professional certification as Technical Level II as outlined by DODI 8570.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Management Army Registry of Networks and Layer-3 Devices (ARNLD)(CAPA and AWRAC) functional area.
  • Conducts updates to the ARNLD to ensure that only correctly configured web servers are permitted to connect from DoD networks to the commercial internet; generates reports as necessary.
  • Provides surge support, technical guidance, and expertise in Cybersecurity to assist customers, mission partners, IMOs, ISSOs, IS Owners, Software Developers, Network Systems, and Database Administrators in accordance with all relevant cyber regulations and directives; delivers results in reports, briefs, and other required documentation to the appropriate government representative.
  • Offers Cybersecurity surge support in response to real-world scenarios or additional requirements in support of RMF compliance checks and documentation reviews across authorization boundaries, including, but not limited to:
    • Conducting security review preparations for all security controls related to RMF applicable to an assigned authorization boundary based on the Confidentiality, Integrity, or Availability designation.
    • Performing on-site or off-site reviews of all information systems to audit and validate compliance with relevant security controls.
    • Acting as reviewers for audit teams during inspections, assessments, evaluations, audits, etc.
    • Providing reports to the designated government representative as required.
    • Conducting reviews, validations, and deliverable efforts in support of compliance or non-compliance in accordance with CCI, STIGs, and SRGs for each finding or vulnerability in line with RMF.
    • Delivering embedded Cybersecurity support across customer or other supported organizations as needed.
