Job Overview:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Engages in the assessment and analysis of intricate malicious software utilizing various tools such as disassemblers, debuggers, hex editors, unpackers, virtual machines, and network sniffers.
  • Accountable for delivering comprehensive findings in a technical report detailing malware characteristics, identification parameters, advanced functionalities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Conducts thorough research on malicious software, vulnerabilities, and exploitation techniques.
  • Experience in application security, network security, reverse engineering, or malware analysis is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of worms, viruses, Trojans, rootkits, botnets, Windows internals, and Win32 API is required.
  • Additional programming experience (in assembly and web) and system analysis with various tools, including IDA Pro, Ollydbg, PCAP tools, or TCP Dump, is necessary.
  • Must hold a professional certification within a Cybersecurity discipline as Technical Level II as per DODI 8570.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies all information systems that qualify for quarantine analysis.
  • Compiles vulnerabilities into a Quarantine List (QL) for review and processing, utilizing various tracking tools and ticket systems.
  • Identifies hosts that have been quarantined with no pending actions for remediation.
  • Generates reports as required.
  • Reviews scans to confirm successful remediation.
  • Provides status updates to the requesting organization’s technician or representative according to current quarantine reporting protocols.
  • Updates and resolves tickets with recommendations, routes tickets for further troubleshooting or reimaging, or removes tickets if no remediation is available.
  • Offers surge support, technical guidance, and expertise in Cybersecurity to assist customers, mission partners, IMOs, ISSOs, IS Owners, Software Developers, Network System Administrators, and Database Administrators in accordance with all relevant cyber regulations and directives; delivers results in reports, briefs, and deliverables as required to the appropriate government representative.
  • Provides Cybersecurity surge support in response to real-world incidents or additional requirements in support of RMF compliance checks and documentation reviews across authorization boundaries, including, but not limited to:
    • Preparation for security reviews of all security controls associated with RMF applicable to an assigned authorization boundary based on Confidentiality, Integrity, or Availability designations.
    • Conducting on-site or off-site reviews of all information systems to audit and validate compliance with associated security controls.
    • Acting as reviewers for audit teams during inspections, assessments, evaluations, and audits.
    • Delivering reports to the assigned government representative as required.
    • Providing reviews, validation, and deliverable efforts in support of compliance or non-compliance in accordance with CCI, STIGs, and SRGs for each finding or vulnerability in accordance with RMF.
    • Delivering embedded Cybersecurity support across customer or other supported organizations as necessary.
