Position Available: Tire Service Specialist

A Tire Service Specialist plays a crucial role in inspecting and repairing tires for trucks and trailers, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of truck and trailer tires for signs of wear, bulges, cuts, and tread damage.
  • Perform repairs on tires with minor issues.
  • Safely secure vehicles on lifts for maintenance tasks.
  • Remove wheels from vehicles using lug wrenches and various hand and power tools.
  • Dismount and remount tires and wheels securely on vehicles.
  • Repair or replace tires on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Ensure proper installation of wheels and tires, including balancing and fit checks.
  • Maintain inventory and tire-related equipment.
  • Reassemble tires onto wheels as needed.
  • Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly through scraping, grinding, or sandblasting.
  • Dispose of damaged or old tires in compliance with state regulations.
  • Verify that tires are functioning correctly and meet Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Act standards.
  • Safely operate all tools and equipment.
  • Report any safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Keep the work area organized and clean.
  • Assist mechanics and perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Possess a current, valid driver's license for the relevant state.
  • Maintain a clean driving record to remain insurable under company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the commercial tire sector.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is essential.
