This position is integral to the Division of Nursing, where you will significantly influence both patient care and the educational journey of nursing students.
Role Responsibilities
The Clinical Nursing Instructor embodies various roles including educator, facilitator, consultant, and leader. You will be tasked with delivering instruction within the accelerated BSN nursing program affiliated with a designated university, while also managing educational partnerships that foster professional growth and align with the Department of Nursing's mission.
Department Insights
The Academic Partnerships team serves as the key liaison for all academic programs at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, overseeing clinical relationships with nursing programs and managing clinical practicums and fellowships.
Key Duties
- Exhibit clinical expertise and leadership to develop academic courses and achieve educational excellence.
- Coordinate and plan both theoretical and practical education for nursing students as directed by the university program coordinator.
- Employ teaching strategies that encourage critical thinking and integrate evidence-based practices, utilizing adult learning principles.
- Act as an educational expert on various committees and projects to support nursing department initiatives.
- Organize and lead orientation sessions and ongoing meetings with educational affiliates to ensure smooth integration into the clinical environment and adherence to hospital policies.
