Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned architect and technical leader with expertise in Public Cloud (Azure), Infrastructure Automation, Containerization, and mobile payment systems to become a vital part of the Application Infrastructure Delivery team within our Core Infrastructure division. This role is crucial in supporting Vail Resorts' strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic architectural guidance and a long-term vision for the infrastructure team, aligning with enterprise goals.
- Conduct project intake assessments to determine technical design, resource needs, and solution delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with managers, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to enhance projects within the infrastructure domain.
- Oversee the work of contractors and managed service providers, ensuring flexibility in resource management.
- Contribute to the development of multi-year technology roadmaps, ensuring thorough documentation and alignment.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical operational challenges.
- Utilize expertise in automation to identify and implement solutions that reduce manual efforts across the infrastructure landscape.
- Ensure compliance with established processes for changes in configuration, hardware, and software, providing technical support as necessary.
- Proactively seek opportunities for improvement and standardization within Vail Resorts' technology ecosystem.
- Mentor fellow analysts, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
- Approach new challenges with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, with relevant work experience or certifications considered.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure, focusing on datacenter technologies such as compute, virtualization, storage, and enterprise networking.
- At least 5 years in a leadership role within an Azure enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform Cloud and Octopus.
- Two years of experience in a team lead capacity or equivalent management experience in IT Infrastructure.
- Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI, or HIPAA.
- Proven ability to work on projects within various frameworks, including Agile.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Relevant certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP) are preferred.
The ideal candidate will possess a service-oriented mindset and extensive technical infrastructure experience, including architecture, engineering, and cloud deployment capabilities.

- Competitive salary range of $99,900 - $135,120, plus an annual bonus.
