Job Title: Automotive Painter

STS Group, a leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries, is seeking an experienced Automotive Painter to join our team at our new facility in Salem, Virginia.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Automotive Painter to work in our state-of-the-art paint shop, applying protective and decorative coatings to manufactured products. The ideal candidate will have experience in paint surfaces, paint sprayers, and paint booths, as well as excellent communication skills and visual acuity to identify flaws in Class A painted surfaces.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply protective and decorative coatings to manufactured products using spray guns and other equipment.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, including removing grease and dirt.
  • Apply masking tape and other protective materials to ensure accurate coating.
  • Sand and prep surfaces to remove defects and fill cavities and dents.
  • Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired colors and finishes.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and work areas.
Requirements:
  • 1-5 years of experience in paint surfaces, paint sprayers, and paint booths.
  • 1-5 years of experience in automotive paint and body repair.
  • Excellent communication skills and visual acuity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

The Automotive Painter will work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to hazardous conditions such as dust, fumes, and spray. Respirators are required. The work environment may be extreme at times based on weather conditions.
