STS Group, a leading supplier of components and systems for the commercial vehicle and automotive industries, is seeking an experienced Automotive Painter to join our team in Salem, VA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Automotive Painter to work in our state-of-the-art paint shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying protective and decorative coatings to manufactured products, ensuring high-quality finishes and meeting customer expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply coatings to surfaces using spray guns, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for painting, removing grease and dirt using appropriate materials.
  • Mask areas not to be coated and manipulate parts for proper spraying and drying.
  • Sand and prep primer surfaces, filling cavities and dents with body filler and putty.
  • Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired colors, following specifications.
  • Clean spraying equipment and brushes with solvents.
Requirements:
  • 1-5 years of experience in paint surfaces, paint sprayers, and paint booths.
  • 1-5 years of experience in automotive paint and body repair.
  • Excellent communication skills and visual acuity to identify flaws in Class A painted surfaces.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certifications from apprentice or training programs preferred.
